A guest from Far far away!

Hello!

You might have heard about Couch surfing, it's a great concept that allows international hippies communicate with each other and maybe get a sleeping place for the night. The badawiehkurunguyn has of course joined CS with no participation until last Tuesday.

I got a message to CS saying that if we could let this guy to sleep at our place that day. After a few phone calls we accepted the dude to join us. I almost blew the whole thing up by not telling him the entrance code to our door, he didn't have phone, luckily I spotted him from the window.

This Japanese musician muslim, who goes by the name of Ushi was a really interesting person. He'd been travelling for almost 2 years. All the way from Japan, China, India, northern Africa, Middle-East, Europe, and now he's in Turku, Luolavuori. We had a lot to talk about.. military, culture, music, Madventures. Yes, we watched the India episode with Ushi, he was overwhelmed with those shaman dudes, the similarity between the shamans and finns was obvious. Ushi had been in the same exact place where the religious festival happened, very cool. Ushi told us about this guy who had been walking from the most eastern part of China and planned to continue to most western part of Portugal. That's the longest distance on Earth one can walk. Then Jouni cooked something that Ushi loved.

The next morning we made porridge and talked about porridge. Then we decided to change our far-eastern guy from Hai to Ushi. But Ushi had better plans, he was about to continue his journey. Sucks for us. We actually saw Ushi at the library the same day, he had had his glasses fixed, and just for 9€, well that meant he had to stay in Turku for another week, luckily he liked Turku.

This was a good experience for us and we hope more of those happy Couch surfers will find our place, although it's not the most cleanest and we can't always offer the best food. I can assure that almost anybody will have a nice time with us!

The painting of demons on walls!

As you may have noticed, I updated the blog with some nifty nice pictures.
Last night we started painting the apartment walls to spruce up the look of the place. Jouni had a sketch of a japanese demon, and I - inspired by this - wanted to do a hanya mask so that our home would be protected from evil spirits. Of course, originally I meant for Jouni to draw it, but I ended up doing it myself. Jouni did the finishing touches with the details since I've no eye for detail.
As Jouni started sketching the wall, Antti searched for things to customize. He located our coffee table and with the help of Omar, they made it magnificent-er. It's a magic mushroom spore Ikea coffee table.
Sweet?

PS I also painted Cthulhu on my bookshelf. It looks weird.
